First Reconciliation

For our students who will be receiving their First Reconciliation, we want this to be a meaningful experience. The service is held on a Saturday morning with their classmates and family. One parent should be present with the student at this service. Before the sacrament is received, parents should attend the meeting going over information concerning the sacrament of Reconciliation.

First Eucharist

The experience of receiving the First Eucharist is meaningful for the students and their families. The mass celebrating the First Eucharist is held on the first Saturday in May. A parent meeting going over the information concerning the Sacrament of Holy Eucharist occurs before the sacrament is received. Finally, a parent and student event is held to bring the family experience together.

For students who will be receiving the sacrament of Confirmation in eight grade, preparation begins for students in the seventh grade. The students are asked to do reflection activities on the life of Jesus, the Mass, Catholic beliefs and service to the Parish and community. During this year of preparing for Confirmation, the parents must also be an active part of this process. Confirmation is celebrated with a Bishop from the Archdiocese. There are two parent and student meetings held during the year. The student and their sponsor must also attend the two masses and class sessions that occur during the year.

Couples who wish to be married at Our Lady of The Angels will meet with the priest to discuss their plans and set their marriage date. Prior to the wedding, the couple attends an engaged couple’s workshop. Please schedule your pre-marriage appointment at least 8 months in advance of your wedding date.

Anointing of the Sick

Anointing of the Sick is usually celebrated at the onset of an illness, or the time that a person's condition becomes more serious.
